It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Whirl

[[L A U G H A B L E]] * I’m not in the habit of duplicating artwork from other blogs, but this mock lead story from today’s New York Times Web site--building on George W. Bush’s promise to have veep Dick Cheney closely study hurricane-relief efforts on the Gulf Coast--is a joke too good not to repeat:

Thanks to the Whiskey Bar blog for making my day.

If that wasn’t enough, here’s The Daily Show’s incomparable Jon Stewart elaborating on Bush’s utter “failure of leadership from the top of the federal government.”
“Remember when Bill Clinton went out with Monica Lewinsky? That was inarguably a failure of judgment at the top. Democrats had to come out and risk losing credibility if they did not condemn Bill Clinton for his behavior. I believe Republicans are in the same position right now. And I will say this: Hurricane Katrina is George Bush’s Monica Lewinsky. The only difference is this: Tens of thousands of people weren’t stranded in Monica Lewinsky’s vagina.”
And since it is so necessary to laugh, even in the midst of national tragedies, check out The Onion’s own ... um, unique brand of hurricane coverage.
