[[L A U G H A B L E]] * Can we just declare this the quote of the week right now? When Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada), who knows a thing or two about combating mob-style corruption, was asked what he thought of recent Republican proposals to reform rules in Congress governing lobbying practices--a significant issue, given the GOP’s Jack Abramoff influence-buying scandal--he responded in what’s becoming his familiar, combative style:

“It is like asking John Gotti to do what he can to clean up organized crime.”
