George Who?
[[L E A D E R S H I P]] * George W. Bush might still be able to throw his weight around in White House hallways and among the Republican sheep in Congress, but Americans on the whole don’t think the prez commands much deference on the world stage these days. That’s according to a recent Gallup Poll. Asked whether they believe that the leaders of other nations have respect for Bush, 63 percent of Gallup respondents said “no.” Only 33 percent said “yes.” This compares most unfavorably with the results from a February 2001 Gallup survey, which found Americans convinced, by a margin of 49 percent to 38 percent, that foreign leaders viewed Bush with admiration.
