[[P O L L S]] * Not that it matters a whole lot at this late stage, but a new survey commissioned by Bloomberg and the Los Angeles Times shows that, if the 2004 U.S. presidential election were conducted today, Democrat John Kerry of Massachusetts would defeat George W. Bush by an impressive 47 percent-to-40 percent margin. This latest poll, conducted by Angus Reid Consultants, follows a Times/Bloomberg assessment from two weeks ago, which found that in a rerun of the 2004 race, Kerry would win 49 percent of the popular vote; scandalized Republican Bush would pick up only 39 percent--or 9 percent less than his Democratic opponent scored in November ’04.
