Today’s news that Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell “will lead the platform committee for the Republican National Convention” doesn’t bode well for moderation in that party’s 2012 agenda. McDonnell, after all, is severely anti-labor, and he backed offensive legislation requiring women in Virginia to undergo an invasive and unnecessary ultrasound procedure before having an abortion.
Furthermore, he has been contradicting Mitt Romney’s one-note attacks on President Obama’s financial stimulus program. With friends like McDonnell, does Romney really need enemies?
