Sharp in the Unconventional Sense

This is the best characterization I’ve heard yet of scandalized former U.S. House speaker, Republican presidential contender, and sometime GOP frontrunner Newt Gingrich:

“[Ronald] Reagan had a certain charm and gentility. Gingrich is like what would happen if Reagan had been abandoned as a child, and raised by a family of cactuses.”
